On this page you can find information about the gay destinations in Romania

Romania is divided into provinces and each of them has a major city to enjoy.
However, the best cities to visit, if you're gay and want to enjoy your stay, are the major university cities which are the host of a large student population. Therefore if you're looking for the young & hung... read this:

Bucuresti
(Bucharest) is the capital city with a population way over 1 million and without a doubt is the most vibrant gay destination in Romania. Its active night life has many gay and gay-friendly venues which can be enjoyed on daily basis.
Apart from this you'll find countless museums, clubs, discotheques and art galleries.
Obviously, one massive touristic attraction is the People's House (Casa Poporului), a permanent hideous architectonic legacy from the communist era of the dictator Ceausescu.
This massive communistic legacy monument is one of the largest buildings in the world, topped-up only by the Pentagon and Taj Mahal.
Daily tours are organized inside the building, and you can actually visit the infamous balcony where Ceausescu held his famous last speech, before the December 1989 Revolution.

Get a tourist flyer for specific information on museums and cultural events.
As a tip, you can make the most out of your trip if you go out with a local guide, not necessarily gay, that actually knows where to bring you.
You can fly with WizzAir, BlueAirweb, Carpatair, EasyJet, RyanAir, Skyeurope, Germanwings, AirBerlin, Tarom, BA, KLM, , Alitalia, AirFrance, Lufthansa and other major airlines to and from Bucharest.

Timisoara
(or as the youngs say Timi) is by far the most mundene and trendy of them all.
A student center located in the west of the country, about 550km away from Bucharest, it's best accessible by plane. Carpatair, WizzAir, Blueairweb and Tarom are two national airlines which operate daily flights between Timisoara and Bucharest and from major European cities.
Visit carpatair.com and tarom.com for details.
Timisoara has a rich and colorful night life with many trendy bars and clubs, one being our special favorite: D'Arc located on Str. Emanuil Ungureanu 14. With its mixed crowd, stylish interior and smooth music D'Arc is the perfect place to hang out with your friends or meet the locals.
Timisoara has a very active life in the student neighborhood where pratically 24/7 there is something happening.
If you're in mood for hooking up or a hot fuck, Timisoara is the place to be.

Arad
is located 55km away from Timisoara and it's much more laid-back but it does not lack a nice night life.
In Arad we recommend Club Renaissance, a classy venue with a mixed crowd.
Although quite far at about 35 respectivelly 60km away from Arad, you can visit two nice places Lipova and Moneasa if you have time to spare.
Arad it's worth taking a look at if you are staying in Timisoara.
If you are already in Arad and if you love wine, you should run quicly to the best wineyards in the west side of the country, for a quick delightful wine tasting. These are Recas, Siria-Madarat and Minis-Baratca, last two located just outside the city.
BlueAir is an airline which flies to and from Arad. Visit blueairweb.com for details.

Going to the center of the country we find Cluj (or the full name Cluj-Napoca), another major university city.
Cluj has so much to offer that it's amost impossible to write it here. Great restaurants, good clubs, gay clubs, and a high elevated restaurant with a wonderful panorama of the city.
Cluj has earned its gay reputation through the wild gay parties hosted by the known gay clubs in Cluj.

If time allows you must not miss Brasov, a pitoresque destination host to the famous Black Church in its center.
Brasov is a large city about 160km away from Bucharest, in the mountains and by intercity trains you can make the distance in under 2 hours.
Going by car can prove a nightmare due to the constant traffic jams, especially in the winter months when thousands of people from Bucharest go skying in the weekends.
Brasov is loaded with trendy clubs, nice discoteques with a mixed crowd and fancy bars.
Within literally minutes away, by car just 30km, you can reach the most beautiful sky resorts in Romania, located on Prahova's valley, Predeal.
It's the ideal place for winter fun.

From Brasov it's easy to have a quick trip to the real Dracula's palace at Bran (which actually exists and it is now a museum fortress).
Bran is just 25km away from Brasov.

If you are visiting Romania in the summer time go to Sighisoara as well, one of the few remaining inhabited fortress cities in Europe.
The distance between Brasov and Sighisoara is roughly 130km.
During the summer time in Sighisoara you should not miss the authentic Medieval Festival, a colorful and interesting happening which is totally worth the trouble. On the narrow streets, under the old walls, unexpected knights, priests, wizards, jesters and incarnated spirits came from a world in which the fabulous and the evil lived together to feed with fear and with tireless inclination toward adventure. The festival takes place at the end of June (26-27) till the beginning of July (2-4), every year and be aware that most hotels in the fortress are fully booked with months in advance.

If you are in the region of Brasov, you must - must - must see Sibiu.
Sibiu (or by its medieval name Hermanstadt) is just 145km away from Brasov, and is a pearl of town with chique terraces and nice medieval streets and beautifully preserved original old German architecture.
A trip in the old city is an absolute delight for the ones interested in buildings and history. Not to mention the famous Liar's bridge, built in 1771 and rebuilt in 1859, which story has it that if you say a lie while passing under the bridge, this will collapse on you.
Nevertheless, the story is false and the name comes from the fact that on this particular bridge many couples in love offered promises of eternal love to each other and after the usual fuck, they separated. Hence, the Liar's bridge...
Some things never change, do they?!
As mentioned, if you happen to be in Sibiu do not miss visiting Sighisoara, just 90km away from Sibiu.

Going north, we recommend Iasi, by far the largest city in the province named Moldova and its capital city.
Iasi is 400km away from Bucuresti and enjoys quick trips by intercity trains as well as flights under one hour.
Iasi is an university city, literally loaded with twinks coming even from the Republic of Moldova, which before the 2nd world war was part of Romania.
Iasi evolved a lot in the past decade and will welcome you with a rich and busy life. The major attractions are the old Palace, located in walking distance from the center and the famous vineyards Cotnari and, the Iasi vineyards located just outside the city.
Iasi is the ideal destination if you are looking to launch yourself into a tour of the mode famous monasteries in the world, which are located in Suceava. especially during the school months, Iasi is a very appealing gay destinations with literally thousands of horny twinks just waiting to get laid.

Suceava
is located about 150km from Iasi, towards the mountains and has the charm of a typical Romanian town.
Suceava is not exactly a gay heaven but there are gay people there. Just search on our website the profiles located in Suceava.
The Catholic church thrones in the middle of the central park and the old fortress of Stefan the Great are absolutely a "must see".
Not far from the town of Suceava you can visit the world renowned monasteries Voronet and Putna.
In the medieval times they say that the blue color of the Voronet' sky was impossible to imitate with the ingredients and pigments existing at that time, hence the name Blue of Voronet, which nowadays can be reproduced.
Apart from that, simply observing the religious service can bring an unexpected inner peace. You'll be surprised...
If you do have time to adventure yourself into the mountains while you stay in Suceava, we recommend you the best resorts Campu-Lung Moldovenesc and Vatra Dornei, with breathtaking, picture perfect views.
It's not a bad idea to look a good private B&B and enjoy the evening together with the hosts.
Many 2, 3 and 4 star hotels are available but during the winter they might be fully booked due to the sky resorts around them.

Gay friendly clubs in Suceava
Suceava > gay friendly club, lots of fun parties and the best DJ's, Office's Club - Str. Corneliu Coposu 12b
Suceava > gay friendly club & mixed crowd, Music Pub - Str. Mihai Viteazu nr. 40
Suceava > mixed crowd, Discoteque Vox - Str. Stefan Cel Mare nr. 20A

If you go south, we recommend you Constanta, a major city at the Black Sea.
Constanta is "best served" in the summer time.
Constanta has a lot of potential during the hot summer months because it is very close to the major fancy summer holiday resorts, which usually are overcrowded and way overpriced: Mamaia, Neptun, Saturn, Olimp, Venus, Jupiter, Eforie, Mangalia.
A bit farther are the favorites of the young students, Costinesti,  2 Mai and Vama Veche.
The truth is that if you are looking for a lot of fun & sex the last 3 are the best, provided that you do not miss being into a fancy hotel.
During the summer months many fun happenings and concerts take place in Vama Veche.
